Sentiero della Bonifica (Bonifica’s Path)
The path begins from “Ponte a Chiani” (Arezzo’s Gate) and finishes at Chiusi lake: it goes through Montepulciano lake  and develops for 62 km following the canal Maestro della Chiana. The footpath is protected and equipped, completely ground, it is on the dirt course of the canal maintenance ancient road.

From the Casale Il Granaio is possible to enter into Bonifica’s Path through the linking way of Camucia station, which goes also by Etruscan tumulus of Sodo, in the vicinity of the cottage (1km).

Bonifica’s path is very suited to family tourism, for who likes journey slowly, by feet or bikes, there are no obstacles and it’s travelled also in singular tractes.

The path goes through the heart of Valdichiana, in one of the most beautiful and still entire natural oasis, rich of Etrurian history and peasant culture linked to territory and its products. Here the Chianina breed which comes to our tables as the Fiorentina Steak, find its origins.

During the run you will find abndance of fluvial fauna, you will have suggestive landscape in all directions: on South there is the Mount Amiata, on North Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino, passing by Civitella in Val di Chiana, Monte S. Savino, Marciano della Chiana, Lucignano, Foiano della Chiana, Sinalunga, Torrita di Siena, Montepulciano and Chianaciano Terme.
