The 53rd edition of Cortonantiquaria is going to take place during the last days of the month. As usual inside Palazzo Vagnotti, from August 22 to September 6, the best exhibitors will meet antique lovers. For the third time, then, Palazzo Casali host Cortona Design: this event, that is contemporaneous to Cortonantiquaria, this year will pay homage to the Egyptian culture and design.
As mentioned, in Cortona and the in whole Tuscany, August is the month of food festivals. In the Tuscan village there will be two festivals that represent as many points of reference for gourmets. The first one will brighten the days in the middle of the month: from August 14 to 16 the Steak Festival will honor the Florentine steak and good Chianti wine at the Gardens of the Parterre. Next, again at the Gardens of the Parterre the Porcini Mushroom Festival will take place. From a Tuscan specialty to another: from August 22 to 23 mushrooms will create a two-day event dedicated to the best Tuscan cuisine.
We recommend you leave the borders of Cortona, at least for a few hours, to reach another town in Chiana Valley. Bisteccando, culinary festival dedicated to Chianina meat, will be held in Castiglion Fiorentino from August 21 to 23 and from 27 to 30. Badia al Pino, a hamlet in the municipality of Civitella in Val di Chiana, will host its Steak Festival from August 20 to 23 and 25 to 30. In short, those who love good meat will find their heaven here!
During a stay in Cortona, push yourself beyond the border of Umbria to know the festivals of the “green heart of Italy”. In Porto, the picturesque village near Castiglione del Lago, everything is ready for the Festival of Brustico and Tagamaccio: these strange names represent two typical seafood dishes of Lake Trasimeno.
